Raid Times:
Listed below are the raid times (GMT+1/Bladefist server time):
Wednesday – 20:00 to 23:00
Thursday – 20:00 to 23:00
Friday – 20:00 to 23:00
Sunday – 20:00 to 23:00
Attendance:
We require that all raiding members attend every scheduled raid. If you cannot make a scheduled raid, you must inform the officers by posting in the Away Notification forum or on Calendar. This is because we organise the raid groups based on which members will be available, so if you do not notify us, it could cause serious complications for us. We do understand that sometimes emergencies occur, or other circumstances come up that are beyond your control, and we are always willing to make exceptions where they are merited.
Please note that in addition to turning up on time, we expect our raiders to remain online/available for the entire duration of the raid, unless we tell you otherwise. Bailing due to being sat out or for any other reason is not acceptable. Also, while we actively encourage other aspects of the game (like arena), when the time comes to raid you must be ready and waiting at the specified instance. "I just want to do 2 more games" is not an acceptable reason for lateness.
Consumables:
We require you to be using an appropriate flask during all progression content. Further, we require that you bring and use appropriate consumables (e.g. haste/mana potions). You can buy these at a lower rate from the GB atleast 30 minutes before a scheduled raid so there are no excuses for not bringing any.
Theorycraft:
We expect our raiders to know their class inside and out. We aren't going to hold your hand - you will need to do your own research to find your optimal gearing, rotations, etc. We have our own role-based forums which contain a considerable amount of information and discussions, and we encourage all raiding members to both contribute to and utilise them.
Connection/Computers:
We need our raiders to play on stable internet connections in order to succeed. Localized ISP problems/power outages do happen - however we simply cannot have anyone on the roster who disconnects during every raid. We will work with you in helping you to fix any issues that you have, but it will ultimately be up to you to get them sorted out.
You will also need to have a decent computer, one fast enough to handle the demands of top-end raiding content. Sometimes things can get pretty hectic, with a huge number of spell effects etc. on the screen, and you still need to be able to perform at your best.
Drama:
Our policy on drama is plain and simple. We are here to have fun. This means you need to get along with everyone else while smashing through content. We don’t want to sit and listen to people cry about stupid things. If you do have an issue with another raiding member that you cannot resolve yourself, you can bring it to the attention of the officers. We will do our best to help you resolve the issue(s), but anyone found to be causing excessive angst will be replaced.
Raid Tools:
You are required to have atleast 5 addons.
oRA2
Big Wigs (We use this instead of DBM! More accurate and more flexible for RL matters)
Omen
AVR Encounters
EPGP Loot Master (Needed for the new loot system)
Further we can recommend having PerfectRaid, Healbot, Grid or any other similar addon. Especially if your role happen to be a healer.
Loot:
Risen Heroes chosen system of loot distribution is to use a DKP system. The item is linked in raid chat, and raiders who want it reply saying 'main' or 'off' followed by the amount you wish to bid f.x. "main 50" (be sure to mention if it is "best in slot" for your class/spec). The officers then decide which player to give the item to. We do record who gets which item, in order to make sure we distribute items fairly evenly.
We take into consideration a multitude of things when deciding who to give loot to. A player’s performance/attitude/attendance/contribution to the raid & the guild will usually be our primary consideration and ofc the amount being bid, but please understand that there will sometimes be preference given to raiders that fill critical roles (for example, it is usually a good idea to gear up tanks first when progressing through fresh content).
You can read more about our DKP system in the stand alone thread in this forum section.
Succeeding as a Recruit:
Have full consumables. Don't turn up to a raid as a recruit (or any rank for that matter) without consumables. First impressions count and we will not carry anyone for any reason.
Learn the encounters. When applying to Risen Heroes, you should have a rough idea of our progress. You are expected to know enough about every encounter in the game to understand our strats.
Be online. We raid from 20:00-23:00 Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday SERVER TIME. This means that you must be online at that time and be ready to go (sometimes we may start earlier, but we will give significant notice ahead of time). Use the Away Notification forum if you are going to be late/absent. We also strongly encourage recruits to be online outside normal raid times and get to know people in the guild - fitting in well will definitely help your chances!
Don't AFK. If you are going AFK too often (especially if you do it without letting the raid leaders know), you will find yourself replaced. We will generally have a break at some point during the raid, so try to wait until then unless its something important.
Be prepared to sit. As a recruit, you may find yourself sitting out a lot. This in itself can be boring, and it also means you have limited time to show us what you can do. Make the most of the raid time you get, and if you perform well, you'll quickly find yourself getting more.
