Can you attend our four scheduled raids (Wed, Fri, Sun and Monday 20.00-23.00)? Should be easy enough!
Occupation: Royal Air Force Technician
Tell us a little about yourself: Married man who has been playing computer games since 1980, I’ve played wow for a long time, back when Molten Core and Onyxia at 60 were cool! I quit wow before WOTLK was released due to a few reasons, but came back a few weeks ago and leveled up to 80 alone, moved servers and now looking to play the game and see high end content, have fun and make some friends.
Character InformationCharacter Name: Klenz
Class: Priest (Shadow Spec)
Armory Link:
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Bladefist&cn=KlenzTotal time /played on this character: 71 days, so far
How long did you take to level from 70-80?: About a week, solo
List and describe any gear sets for other specs that you possess:
My current gear has been gained through the usual emblems, honor and dungeons, and a lot of my gear is useful for a Disc/Holy spec also
Do you have any reasonably geared alts that you are prepared to play as well? List & describe them here:
I have a level 61 DK who has average gear, who I might level up if needed, but my focus has been on progressing my career as a Shadow Priest who melts faces :-)
Describe your role in a raid - and go into detail; this is your chance to demonstrate to us that you know your class:
Well a Shadow Priest won’t top the DPS charts, as its an alternative spec, and Blizzard wants dedicated DPS classes to top the DPS charts. I can however provide decent DPS, mana regen, 5% free heals to all of the raid/party with VT talent, buffs, I self heal, so the healers can concentrate on others. Shadow spec now has a great AOE, is very useful as a raid member, and I'm told is fantastic for ICC content!
Raiding InformationPrevious Raid Experience (guilds, ranks/roles, and content cleared - include Vanilla/TBC if relevant): My guild at the moment is mainly for social reasons, and does not raid, except maybe once a week, therefore my current content experience is limited to VOA 10 and 25man, and the weekly raids for Emblems. Since I quit before WOTLK, my older experience was Karazhan (back when it was cool) and going back further Molten Core and Zul’ Gurub
Reason for Leaving your current guild. If you are leaving on good terms, give us the names of anyone who could vouch for you:
I’m sure most of those in GoB would vouch for me as both a decent guy and player. The guild is primarly for social reasons, so not ideal for what I want to achieve in game right now.
Link to any recent combat parses (WMO, WoL, etc):
Not sure what you require here, full combat logs from a recent raid/dungeon to show casting rotation, dps etc?
Link a screenshot of your UI (in combat, preferably in a raid), and/or a video of you playing: If this is required/mandatory, I can download fraps or something similar and do as required, my ui is changing as I am learning more and adapting as a player.
List your computer's stats and your internet connection. Include average latency and FPS during raids:
My pc is a self built AMD based 64 x2 6000+ 3.15
4gb of decent branded RAM running at optimum settings
Windows 7 64bit
ATi 4870 graphics card, running cool and quiet with decent fps in game
My internet is a very stable and constant 2mb adsl connection, and apart from my wife checking emails, I am the sole user. My usual latency in game is from 40 to 70ms, and I only seem to lag in Wintergrasp, which seems a current server issue for all?
On my computer desk I also have an imac with dual monitors, so I can read tactics, use ventrillo, access maps etc without having to alt-tab out of game.
Explain your reasoning for being your current race if Alliance. If Horde, what race would you pick when you change?:
Humans are kind of normal ;-) They have some good racials, but I would change to undead if I was comverting to Horde
Risen Heroes and YouWhy do you want to join Risen Heroes?:
I spend my time and money in playing Warcraft, and currently not seeing as much content, or enjoying the game as much as i could, so I want to push myself further, and enjoy more of the game, while having fun and sharing the experience and challenges with other like minded players
Tell us why we should give you a trial:
That is up to you, but I think I am a mature decent player who wants to learn, can listen and follow orders. Raiding requires a great team and I am a good team player.
What are your thoughts on beginning raids early and staying beyond the required raid times to down new content? Would you be available for occasional Friday / Saturday raids during progression?:
Yes, I am an adult and can adjust my lifestyle when required for the enjoyment of the game, and teamwork with others, we all want to progress and sometimes things change at short notice, so I am flexible with timings.
How do you feel about sitting out when raid composition demands it?:
i was used to it when we went from 40 man raids started trying to go to Karazhan, and it caused issues as not everyone could raid every night, but as long as there is communication and understanding, its not wasted time, when you can stay in reserve, and go grind out heroics with other guild members while the raid party kills bosses.
Are you active in any non-raiding aspects of WoW like PVP, achievements, or alts? On average how many hours are you online each week?:
I enjoy pvp and am currently trying to assemble some semi-decent resilience gear so that I can compete in BG’s more effectivly, I don’t have much experience in arena, as with low gear I have found myself outclassed, and that becomes a little disheartening. I enjoy gaining achievments, but try and have fun rather than grind them out just for the achievment alone. I am in front of my pc most nights for 5hrs, mostly in game. When at work during the day, I am often online browsing the internet, but cannot access wow :-(
Do you know any raiders in Risen Heroes?:
Not yet but I would like to!
If accepted, do you see yourself raiding with us long term?:
Yes, that’s my idea. I know from past experience that the game is much more fun and rewarding when played with friends, and as I moved server recently, and have no real life friends who play, then I am looking for a long term guild for fun, progression and friendship.
Link (or tell us about) something that you found entertaining and/or interesting (don't worry if its slightly off-colour):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEtIoGQxqQs&feature=relatedI’m sure that guy is a wow rogue player, and thinks he is awesome whilst riding around IronForge
Additional InformationDo you play any other games? Give us an idea of your general gaming background/history:
I started gaming on a Commodore Vic-20, then a Spectrum 48k+, Amiga 500, then pc’s.
My gaming started on Doom II, then progressed through allsorts of games, ranging from flight sims, to fps to adventures and rpg’s. I also have a Wii and PS3 and enjoy more recent games such as Left4Dead 2, Eve Online, Warhammer Online, DCS BlackShark, DeadSpace.....
Do you have a working microphone and headset, and are you willing & able to speak on Vent when required?:
Yes of course, without it, things get hard unnecessarily so.
Do you have a Blizzard Authenticator / iPhone attached to your account? Are you willing to purchase one?:
I use my ipod Touch as my authenticator
If there is anything else you would like to add, or you have any closing comments, include them here:
A long application! I just hope I’m worthy
Have you read and understood Guild Policies and Raid Information?:
Yes of course.
